Mrs. Brown’s Boys star Eilish O’Carroll has no intention of marrying her long-term girlfriend Marian O’Sullivan.

The couple of have been together for 15 years, but Eilish, who is aged 66, doesn't want another wedding following two previous marriages. She is also a mother to two sons.

She said that her age is turning her off walking down the aisle again.

“We never discussed it before because it was never going to be a reality anyway. The option is there and that’s what it’s all about," she explained.

The Winnie McGoogan actress, who is from Cork, met Marian O'Sullivan back in 2003 in an LGBT support group after coming out when she was 49-years-old.

Brendan O'Carroll's older sister added to The Herald: “I keep getting the texts saying, ‘When am I going to have to buy the hat?’, but we’re far too young to be making that kind of commitment – we’ve only been together nearly 14 years it’s be wrong of us to jump into anything.

“If I was 30 or 40, I’d probably go down the aisle, but at my ripe age I’m of the opinion that I’ve done it all already.”

Eilish began a lesbian relationship at the age of 40 after giving birth to two boys and two failed marriages.

However, she kept the news of her new found relationship private and that was something that her sons found very difficult. They just wanted to support her.

"I postponed that conversation for about 10 years. I thought I hid it well, but of course kids, no matter what age they are, are extremely perceptive. They were extremely supportive – after telling me they were 'very angry'. I was expecting them not to be happy with me being gay. But it was the fact I robbed them of the opportunity to support me that angered them.

"I realise that was very wrong of me, but at the time I didn't know how to handle it and therefore I felt no-one else could come to terms with it," she told The Irish News.
