Mrs Brown’s Boys creator Brendan O’Carroll is working on two new shows, we can reveal.
The 67-year-old has a sitcom and a reality series in the pipeline.
He told the Daily Star Sunday: “There are two things I want to do.
“The first play I ever wrote was about six losers who are taking a positive mental attitude course so they can sell insurance. It was really funny. So I’d love to make that into a six-part series.
“And the other project I’d love to do is a show that documents me and my family going to different towns, putting up a tent and performing.
“It would include footage of the shows and also stuff about the family on the road. I think it would be a nice series.”
Brendan’s new projects look set to mark a move away from the BBC.
Mrs Brown’s Boys has been on the Beeb since the comedy first launched in 2011.
But he said: “I haven’t spoken to the BBC about it because I might not do them with the BBC. They might be better suited to another home.”
Brendan is also gearing up to do a stage version of Mrs Brown’s Boys this summer titled Mrs Brown Rides Again.
BBC viewers might be sighing in relief over the news Brendan might be moving to a different channel.
After the most recent New Year's Eve special, viewers said the show should be axed for good.
They took to Twitter in their droves, with one saying: "Just how many times is BBC going to keep flogging this dead donkey?"
Another moaned: "Don't understand why people like Mrs Brown's Boys it's not funny."
And a third said: "Not even 24 hours into 2023 and already Mrs Brown's Boys is on TV! That's this year ruined! Thanks a lot BBC."
Brendan clearly isn't letting the haters put him off though, as he recently said he "doesn't give a f***" if he insults people.
