I’m 63 and only just realised the secret to drinking Guinness, says Mrs Brown’s Boys star Rory Cowan

FORMER Mrs Brown's Boys star Rory Cowan has revealed that he has learnt the secret to enjoying a delicious pint of Guinness.

The Fair City star took to his social media today to share his secret hack with his followers.

Rory revealed that he is now a fan of Guinness

He explained that he learned the trick when he went to the Guinness Storehouse for a tour.

Rory, 63, said that he had always been drinking the white foam at the top of the pint but punters have to drink the black end of the pint.

The actor shared a snap of himself in a pub drinking a delicious pint after he learned the secret hack.

In the picture, he was sporting a bright blue shirt as he sat down at a table in The Dropping Well and his glasses were on the top of his head.

He captioned the snap saying: "I’ve become a Guinness drinker after my visit to ⁦⁦@homeofguinness the other day.

"I thought I didn’t like Guinness but found I’d been drinking the white part.

"The secret is to only drink the black. Me last night in The Dropping Well, on my third pint of Guinness."

Fans flocked to his replies on Twitter to share their thoughts on the hack.

Linda tweeted saying: "Have you tried the coffee-based Guinness yet Rory …. If you’re a coffee lover you’ll love this!!!"

Dale said: "When I lived in Ireland I tried and tried to get the taste for Guinness but couldn’t, was told to try bottled Guinness by a local and boom loved it and then got the taste for tap Guinness."

While Micheal wrote: "Welcome to paradise club Rory."

This comes after Rory recently laughed off death rumours and declared: "I’m very much alive."

The actor, who quit the show in 2017, decided to speak out after claims surfaced online he had passed away.

He told the Irish Sun: “I’m probably dead to a lot of people and there’s a few more people that wish I was actually dead but I’m very much alive in case they bump into me in town over New Year”.

The 63-year-old said friends had alerted him to discussions online where one had claimed ‘the actor died’ and a second fan also added: "I thought he died".

He explained: “Apparently there’s a Mrs Brown fan site on Facebook.

“One person new to the show asked: 'What happened to the original Rory', and a few people replied that I was dead.

“They thought that I (Rory Cowan) was dead... It’s amazing how rumours start and people believe them.

“But I’m not dead... Rory is alive.”
