BRENDAN O'Carroll and wife Jenny Gibney were spotted on the red carpet in LA last night for the premiere of the new Tyler Perry movie A Madea Homecoming.

The Dublin couple mingled with star Tyler, and fellow cast members Brandon Black, Isha Blaaker, and Gabrielle Dennis at the screening in the Regal LA Live & 4DX Cinemas in Los Angeles.

Shot in Atlanta, Brendan said he believed Mrs Brown fans would have no problem lapping up the humour of the black comedy.

He said: "The rise of hip hop and the way African-American culture has spread around the world means this is a worldwide language.

"That culture has also made people happy. So I think this will be fine."

The Mrs Brown's Boys star looked dapper in a black suit jacket adorned with white dragonflies, paired with a white tie, black shirt and trousers and glittering silver trainers.

Wife Jenny Gibney - who also appears in the new Netflix flick - was sporting a beautiful pink top with a black suit and glittered heeled boots.

A Madea Homecoming is out on Netflix February 25.

This comes after it was recently revealed that Mrs Brown’s Boys is returning to the BBC as a series for the first time in almost a decade.

The last run of the hit comedy, based around the family of Brendan O’Carroll’s foul-mouthed Irish “Mammy” Agnes Brown, aired in 2013.

But a cast source confirmed they were booked to film new episodes in April, saying: “Everyone is very excited.

"It’s lovely to be working on another series.

“The cast can’t wait to see Brendan’s scripts.”

The show made its screen debut in 2011 and proved a huge hit with millions of fans, who voted it best sitcom of the 21st century.

It was named best comedy at the National Television Awards three years running.

And its first Christmas special in 2013 pulled in 9.2 million viewers.
