Mrs Brown’s Boys revives Little Britain’s Vicky Pollard and Daffyd after visit from Matt Lucas

In a sitcom crossover no one saw coming, Mrs Brown’s Boys revive Little Britain for a one-off skit as Matt Lucas appears on this week’s All Round To Mrs Brown’s.

Matt, who founded Little Britain, sees double (or triple) on the chat show-turned-sitcom, as characters Buster (Danny O’Carroll) and Dermot (Paddy Houlihan) decide to dress up to him.

As Agnes (Brendan O’Carroll) welcomes guests Matt and Mel B into the family home, the Little Britain music starts playing with Buster turning up dressed like Vicky Pollard.

‘I love Little Britain, I’m a massive fan,’ he declared. ‘I could never pretend to be such a stupid character on television though.’

However, things go awry when he starts quoting Daffyd’s ‘I’m the Only Gay in the village’ catchphase – causing Dermot to turn up in PVC, mimicking Vicky’s fast-paced talking.

It’s then up to Matt to correct the pair as Agnes and Cathy (Jennifer Gibney) look on baffled.

To be fair, they’re not the only ones.

Matt and Mel’s appearances on the series is the latest in a line of a-listers to have a cuppa tea and a chat with the Irish matriarch and her family.

The spin-off of the main Mrs Brown’s Boys series, All Round To Mrs Brown’s sees the family turn their living room into a chat show, with Agnes talking to them before Cathy takes over for The Cathy Brown Show.

Each week, a celebrity brings on their parents to be grilled on what they were like as children, and Buster and Dermot are around to cause havoc.

While Matt’s mum Diana is this week’s guest, it looked like Matt wasn’t quite ready for this trip down memory lane…

All Round To Mrs Brown’s airs Saturday at 9.15pm on BBC One.
