It seems like Christmas 2019 is set to be a cracker as the BBC has announced that two special Christmas episodes of Mrs Brown’s Boys will air over the festive season.

The popular sitcom, created by and starring Brendan O’Carroll, has been a popular fixture on the BBC and RTE's annual Christmas schedules since 2011.

The long-running comedy series stars Brendan O'Carroll as loud-mouthed Irish matriarch Agnes Brown.

A total of 4.7 million viewers watched the Irish sitcom on BBC One last year and the BBC are pulling out all the stops this time around.

And the show has been tipped to be the most watched programme on December 25th this year.

According to BBC, 'It's A Wonderful Mammy' will see Agnes meeting Clyde "who says he's an angel".

"Maybe he could grant Agnes her wish, to show her what life would be like if she'd never been born?", the broadcaster teased.

The second installment is titled 'Orange Is The New Mammy'.

The New Year special will see Peggy Piper the Pernod poisoner out on appeal.

Meanwhile, Buster loses the tank Dermot's hired for their latest promotion and must find it before he finds out.

With less than a month to wait for the first offering, it can't come quick enough until we see our favourite Finglas family.
