Former Mrs Brown’s Boys star Rory McCowan speaks out on Dermot 'Bugsy' O'Neills recent health troubles

“Bugsy is the nicest, sweetest guy but at the slightest sign of trouble, he’d be there"

Former Mrs Brown's Boys star Rory McCowan has spoken out about his former co-star, and friend, Dermot 'Bugsy' O'Neill's recent health troubles.

Rory told the Irish Sun, that he had the actor in his thoughts as he wished him a 'speedy recovery.'

"I can only hope he has a speedy recovery. Bugsy is great," he told.

Bugsy was rushed to hospital after complaining of not feeling well and was put on tubes by the doctors there over the Christmas.

In his book 'Mrs Cowans Boy' Rory wrote that, “Bugsy was the nicest" and the "sweetest" man.

"Bugsy was the nicest, sweetest guy but at the slightest sign of trouble, he’d be there," he wrote.

“Sometimes, at gigs, I’d walk into the crowd to sell programmes and T-shirts, and I’d get a bit of abuse. ‘Get away, you bleedin queer’, that kind of thing.

"I’d call Bugsy over. ‘Are you alright?’, he’d say in a certain way and they’d quickly change their tune.”

Meanwhile, recently, The wife of Mrs Brown’s Boys star Dermot O’Neill revealed his health is improving after the telly favourite was hospitalised over Christmas.

Chickie O’Neill, posted a picture of herself with her husband telling friends on social media: “Dermo is an awful lot brighter today.Christmas greetings from Beaumont hospital. Thank you all for your calls, texts and messages.”

Earlier this week, family members of the TV star asked for prayers after he was rushed to hospital.
