Fiona O’Carroll: ‘We’re all a bit mad — there’s no such thing as a functional family’

 The Mrs Brown’s Boys star talks about family dynamics, nasty critics and her dad Brendan’s influence on her life and work

It may seem that Fiona O’Carroll is riding comfortably in her dad Brendan’s jet stream — but it turns out she was the family star first.

At the age of 10, she and her primary school class recorded a song called Christmas Wrapper. The plan was to sell the single to parents in a bid to raise funds for the school. In the end, the song landed into the Irish Top 10 singles chart.
