Danny O'Carroll has shown that his eldest son Jamie is all grown up as he took to social media to wish him a happy birthday.

The Mrs Brown's Boys actor regularly gives glimpses into his relationship with Jamie, who plays rugby for Ulster.

Jamie has starred alongside his mum and dad, who play Betty Brown and Buster Brady on the BBC comedy respectively, as Bono since 2012.

Sharing a collage of adorable photos to Instagram, Danny wrote: "I'm so proud of the young man you've become.

"Happy 16th Birthday Jamie O'Carroll. I love you so much."

Some of the photos showed Jamie when he was younger while others were more recent.

Danny and his wife Amanda also share another son, Blake, who has also appeared on the show.

Revealing that Jamie, who has appeared on the show since he was five years old, almost didn't go through with his role as Bono, he previously told RSVP Magazine: "I remember collecting him from the airport and he said that he didn't want to do it anymore, he was too nervous. I said that it was no problem and he didn't have to do anything.

"I brought him into rehearsals the following day, his grandad had a little chat with him and he agreed to do it.

"From there, he was hooked and everyone wanted him to stay in the cast. He was so good, I don't know where he gets it from [jokes]!"
