Instead they are gearing up for the Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Live Show tour, which is due to kick off in Blackpool, England, in June.

Quizzed about squeezing in a telly run ahead of the live gigs, Dermot O’Neill, who plays Grandad, told the Irish Sun: “If there’s filming going on, I haven’t heard about it yet.

"I can’t see it happening before the tour because I don’t see how we’d have the time.

“If we were doing a mini series, we’d be out there rehearsing it now because it takes time to prepare.”

Last month, Mrs Brown boss Brendan O’Carroll had said he wanted to do something special to mark the BBC’s 2022 centenary year.

But the Dubliner admitted that due to the pandemic he was “barely going to have time to write my name with all the dates we have to do”.

Brendan, 66, added: “We’ve got 132,000 tickets sold for an eight week UK tour, then over the next 18 months we’re going to Australia, Canada, and South Africa.”

Rehearsals begin next month ahead of the first of three nights in Blackpool on June 6.
Dermot, 69, told us: “It’s so long since we did Mrs Brown together.

“We haven’t been on stage in two years. We were supposed to tour in 2022, and it got cancelled. We’d no idea it would take this long to get back.”

And Dermot is delighted to be back on the road with the Mrs Brown show, which hits Dublin’s 3Arena on November 11 and 12.

He said: “I’ve been bored stiff at home, bored out of my tree. I can’t wait to get back out into the real world.”

Meanwhile, Mrs Brown could break America thanks to the the worldwide success of new movie, A Madea Homecoming.

Brendan O’Carroll’s alter-ego stars alongside Hollywood legend Tyler Perry in the hit, which has has become the most streamed movie on Netflix America since its release in February.

With more streams than The Tinder Swindler and Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the film’s success is a major coup for Finglas native Brendan, who could now use its success to launch a Mrs Brown onslaught in the US.
