Mrs. Brown's favourite Danny O'Carroll spends Christmas with wife Amanda and sons Jamie and Blake

The hilarious actor, who plays Buster Brady on the sitcom, enjoyed the festive season at home in County Donegal with his nearest and dearest- and his eldest son is getting so grown up

Mrs. Brown's Boys' favourite Danny O'Carroll spent Christmas at home with his wife Amanda Woods and their sons Jamie and Blake.

The family of four kept things low key as they enjoyed the festive season in County Donegal.

They all wore matching pyjamas as they waited for Santa Claus to arrive at their place.

Sharing a family snap of them all together, Danny said: "Happy Christmas from the O’Carroll family."

Danny said that they have Christmas dinner as a family of five because it is much easier for them to manage things.

"Amanda has got a huge family so every year she is usually making dinner for about eight or nine people that would be coming to the house.

"But there was so much pressure on her and she didn't get to enjoy Christmas Day that much so I sort of tried to stop that happening, so last Christmas we just had it ourselves, and it was lovely," he told the RTÉ Guide.

Lifting the lid on their Christmas rituals at home, Danny added that watching the seasonal instalment of Mrs. Brown's Boys is a big tradition for them.

He said: "[Sons] Jamie, 14, and 10-year-old Blake generally get up around 5.30am to see their presents and in the evening we all usually go to Amanda's parents to watch Mrs Brown.

"We record it and watch it again when we come home. It is tradition to watch it up there with all the kids and everyone sits around.

"Then we come back to the house and watch it for real and criticise ourselves."

Danny admitted that he doesn't care about watching himself back on screen because he is so used to it after all these years but Amanda hates seeing herself as Betty,

The actor continued: "She wouldn't be too keen at seeing herself on TV. I don't mind it.

"I don't love it, I don't hate it. I'm just used to it I think."
