NEAR MISS Brendan O’Carroll reveals he just missed having ‘dream guest’ Michelle Obama on chat show All Around to Mrs Brown’s

BRENDAN O’Carroll has told how he just missed having Michelle Obama on his BBC chat show All Around to Mrs Brown's.

He explained: “We came close to getting our dream guest last year when Michelle was down to do a book tour in the UK.

“She even had her mother over, which would have been ideal because we ask guests to bring their mother.

"We couldn’t believe our luck. Then her schedule got finalised and it turned out her visit was three weeks out from our filming dates.”

But Brendan and wife Jenny Gibney — who hosts the show with him as interviewer Kathy Brown — weren’t short of VIP guests with Sting and Pamela Anderson appearing.

Season three starts filming in January and Bren said: “I’d love to get The Script on because they’re my favourite band.

"Not just for a chat. I’d love to play with them too.”

O'Carroll also revealed he would have turned into Mussolini-like dictator if he’d gone into politics.

The Mrs Brown’s Boys star said at the start of his career he’d planned to follow his late mum Maureen into politics to get something done but then changed his mind.

She was a Labour TD for Dublin North-Central in the 50s.
