MRS BROWN’S BOYS STAR BRENDAN O’CARROLL SENDS LIVERPOOL FAN SEAN COX VIDEO MESSAGE

Mrs Brown’s Boys star Brendan O’Carroll has paid tribute to Liverpool fan Sean Cox.

Just days before the Liverpool legends charity match to raise funds for his recovery on Friday, the comedian has released a video online signalling his support.

The father-of-three suffered a severe bleed in his brain following an attack at Liverpool’s Champions League semi-final clash against AC Roma on April 24, 2018.

In the video released on Twitter, the Mrs Brown’s Boys star said: ‘Hey Sean, I hope you’re feeling a little bit better.

‘I hope you’re continuing to improve and I’ve no doubt that you will improve with the support of that wonderful family you have around you.

‘I won’t be at the Liverpool game against the Republic of Ireland because, unfortunately, I have to work.

‘I’ve to put on a pair of **** [beep] and a pair of knickers — it’s not an easy life.

‘But I can tell you this. See in the Aviva Stadium? There’ll be some people cheering for Ireland and there’ll be some people cheering for Liverpool but everybody will be cheering for Sean Cox.

‘We love you, Sean. Get well soon. And congratulations to your family for being such a wonderful, wonderful support system.’

The Ireland and Liverpool legends game will take place at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Friday.

The injuries Sean suffered were truly catastrophic and life-altering and he can no longer walk or speak.

However, in an update from his wife Martina she said her husband has recovered some movement in his right arm and right leg, but needs a hoist to be put in a wheelchair.

Simone Mastrelli, 30, from Rome, was jailed in March for three-and-a-half years for assaulting Sean.
