Johnny Vegas gets roasted by his own mum Patricia on All Round To Mrs Brown’s as she slates his comedy

Johnny Vegas’ mum got very frank about what she thinks of her son’s ‘filthy’ comedy.

Johnny and mum Patricia Pennington are Mrs Brown’s guests on her talk show All Round To Mrs Brown’s, and Patricia easily becomes the star of the show.

Mrs Brown (Brendan O’Carroll) and Cathy Brown (Jennifer Gibney) asked Patricia what she thought of Johnny’s stand-up.

Mistakenly thinking they were talking about Mrs Brown’s Boys, she said: ‘I watched you last night.’

After she was corrected, Patricia admitted: ‘I watch you more than I watch his.’ Johnny asked: ‘Do you enjoy watching my comedy shows when I do my stand up?’

Patricia said: ‘I can’t stand your stand up. It’s filthy.’ The comedian explained himself: ‘It’s not filthy. It’s just a different take on looking at life.’

‘Well it’s not my kind of life,’ Patricia shot back, straight-faced.

Johnny might have some competition from his mum in the comedy stakes.

Also on the show, sports presenter Clare Balding talks about introducing the Mobot, and Made In Chelsea stars Jamie Laing and Spencer Matthews give Dermot and Buster a helping hand running a coffee shop.

There’s also music from Scottish band The Red Hot Chilli Pipers to round off another fun-packed show.

Viewers can expect skits from the cast of the hit comedy, some chat show interviews and some games to keep it Saturday night friendly.

She has already had visits from Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher, comedian Rob Beckett and Marcella star Anna Friel.

All Round To Mrs Brown’s airs 9.15pm on BBC One.
