 MRS Brown's Boys creator Brendan O'Carroll has revealed how proud he is of his older sister Eilish as she gears up to take to the ballroom on Dancing With The Stars.

She previously told the Irish Sun: “I feel like a kid at Christmas time, I’ve got everything I asked for, but on the other hand I’m terrified of opening that present.”

Brendan, 63, told the Irish Daily Star that his sister is sure to surprise viewers with her fancy footwork.


He said: "I have no doubt that Eilish will surprise a few people, even herself, with her dancing.

"I'm really proud of her taking on the challenge but mind you, I wasn't waiting for this to be proud of her, I always am."

Eilish O’Carroll, best known for playing Mrs Brown’s neighbour, Winnie McGoogan came out as a lesbian at the age of 50.


Married twice with grown-up children, she previously spoke of how she discovered she was a lesbian at 40 but waited ten years to come out.

Eilish said: “I fell in love with a woman and my life changed completely.”

She also revealed how brother Brendan didn’t give a damn when he broke the news to him about her sexuality.



Eilish said: “In typical Agnes Brown fashion Brendan was like: ‘Do I give a feck?’

“He sat me down and said: ‘Will you stop taking yourself so seriously? Are you happy? Is this what you want? Then get on with it'."

The actress also recently told Ryan Tubridy that the sex of her dance partner on DWTS had never been a concern.
