MRS. BROWN’S BOYS STAR BRENDAN O’CARROLL LANDS NEW BBC PANEL SHOW

Mrs. Brown’s Boys star Brendan O’Carroll has landed a himself new panel show on the BBC.

The 61-year-old comedian has enjoyed huge success with Mrs. Brown’s Boys, which attracts around 11 million viewers and was recently voted the 21st Century’s best sitcom. And now the BBC are capitalising upon the show’s popularity by signing Brendan up to front new panel programme Tell Me Something I Don’t Know. However, unlike Mrs. Brown’s Boys, in which Brendan dresses as a woman to play the titular character, the actor will get to be himself on the new show.

“The BBC are really excited about the premise,” a source told The Sun newspaper. “It’s set to be a lively family show, which sees contestants play games and answer questions. Bosses know that Mrs. Brown’s Boys has a fiercely loyal following who can be relied on to tune in to see whatever Brendan is getting up to.

“There’s hope it will become a staple entertainment show.”

Producers from Hungry Bear Media, also responsible for Mrs. Brown’s Boys’ spin-off chat show All Round To Mrs. Brown’s, are hunting for people to take part in the new series.

“We’re looking to create a fun, exciting atmosphere in studio and will be inviting members of the audience to come down and take part in the gameplay,” an advert read.

Mrs. Brown’s Boys is set to return for a Christmas special later this year.
