Former Mrs Brown’s Boys star Rory Cowan has revealed he was asked to work on a fishing boat in the North Sea for a reality show.

The 58-year-old actor has told how he’s been flooded with offers since calling it quits with the Brendan O’Carroll series.

Since leaving the BAFTA-winning sitcom, the Dubliner has been picked up by top UK talent agent Peter Price, who also represents Kylie Minogue.

Revealing his bizarre work offers, Rory said: “[My agent] keeps talking about reality shows and I keep saying no.

“There was one he came to me about and he said they really wanted me. I asked him what it was and it was 12 days on the North Sea and I’d be helping on a fishing boat.

“I said not in a million years – I wouldn’t go fishing if I was standing beside a river never mind going on the North Sea.”

However, Rory admitted he would consider going into the jungle if I’m A Celeb bosses asked him.

He added: “Brendan O’Carroll said to me just a few months before I left, at the end of 2016, he had just done Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway as Mrs Brown.

“I was sitting in with him having a cup of tea and he asked if I’d do the jungle.

“I said not really because if I’m going to Australia, I’m with Mrs Brown’s Boys and we stay in a five-star hotel.

“To go over there to sit in a hammock, eat kangaroo testicles and shower under a waterfall wouldn’t be for me.

“But he said Ant and Dec told him they’d love me on it, so I don’t know.”

Speaking on the red carpet at the VIP Style Awards, Rory admitted he has no plans to tune into the new series of All Around To Mrs Brown’s.

He said: “I’ve left and when I leave something, I leave it behind me.

“I’m very proud of my time with Mrs Brown but I don’t want to be looking back – I know I won’t.”

The actor previously revealed he would love to move from TV screens on to the airwaves, saying he has some “promising” offers in the UK.

He added: “I would love to do a radio show, a weekend radio show. I would love that.”
